The University of Southern California hosts MLASCC-L, our Chapter's online discussion list. Founded in 1997, MLASCC-L is a discussion forum designed primarily for members of the Music Library Association, Southern California Chapter.
MAIL DISTRIBUTION
To subscribe, send a message to listproc@usc.edu with the following command in the body of the message:
SUBSCRIBE MLASCC-L Firstname Lastname
Make sure you subscribe to the list using your preferred e-mail address.
The list should be used for Chapter-related information and activities, as well as items of general interest to music librarians in Southern California. Since every mail message will be distributed to all subscribers, care should be exercised when sending mail to MLASCC-L. Please refrain from sending messages intended for only one other individual.
If you REPLY to a mail message that has been distributed via a distribution list, your REPLY message will also be distributed to all participants. In many cases you will want to REPLY only to the original sender; you should therefore not use the REPLY command, but send a mail message addressed to the original sender.
MAIL ARCHIVING
Correspondence distributed through MLASCC-L is archived in monthly logs. These are identified by the filename "logYYMM" where "YY" is the last two digits of the year and "MM" is the two digit representation of the month. To retrieve the log for March 1999, for example, send the following message to listproc@usc.edu:
